Knights of Columbus in General

WHAT ARE THE KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS?

The Knights of Columbus is a public service organization made up of Catholic men ages 18 and up. If you are a Catholic male under the age of 18, visit the Columbian Squires FAQ in the links section.

WHO CAN JOIN?

Catholic men who have reached the age of 18 are eligible to be knighted. If you are a Catholic male under the age of 18, visit the Columbian Squires FAQ in the links section.

WHAT DO KNIGHTS DO?

The Knights of Columbus' activities can be divided into four areas: Council, Social, Spiritual and Service. Council activities encourage fraternity and friendship among knights. Social activities are put on by the knights so that members of the charter parish may meet, mingle and have fun. Spiritual activities include attending mass as a group, and ushering at Sunday mass. Service activities are service projects such as re-covering the kneelers in the church, gathering food for the local hungry, as well as gathering essentials, such as soap, shampoo and toothpaste for those in homeless shelters. These are the activities of the Knights of Columbus.

WHAT DO I GAIN?

The Knights of Columbus is a non-profit organization. Tangible profits are few for members, in abundance for the community. But members receive many intangible profits. Knights meet new people and form new friendships. They increase their spirituality and grow in their understanding of and relationship with God. They also gain the satisfaction of having done something good for others. And, Fourth Degree Knights get swords!
